Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic medicine is guided by 6 principles:

Vis medicatrix naturae - The healing power of nature
Our evolution as humans was guided by the laws of nature, and we continue to be aligned with these laws. These laws support life and encourage it to thrive. They describe the power of nature, a power that is inherently within us as the innate intelligence of our bodies. This intelligence keeps our hearts beating, our immune system fending off infections, and causes our wounds to heal. When we provide ourselves with the proper conditions for health, we can trust in the wisdom within our cells.

Primum non nocere - first, do no harm
Naturopathic medicine utilizes the Therapeutic Order, which guides us to use the least invasive interventions first. In this way, we support the body's innate wisdom, and give it only the level of intervention which is necessary to induce healing.

Tolle causam - treat the cause
When we treat the cause we bring about cure. Naturopathic doctors are expert sleuths, able to peel back the layers and uncover the underlying cause.

Tolle totum - treat the whole
The whole is made up of mind, body, and spirit. When we treat all three the entire body is brought into balance, and into embodied wellness.

Docere - doctor as teacher
The word "doctor" comes from the latin word "teacher". Staying true to this, naturopaths value teaching our patients about their health and empowering them to take control of their own healing.

Praevenire - prevention
This is the cornerstone to lifelong health. When we live in line with the laws of nature, giving our body what it needs to thrive, we prevent disease from setting in and remain vibrantly healthy.
